Community and Government Affairs Task Force

Charge

The Community and Government Affairs Task Force is an interim body charged by the president with maintaining Williams’ relationships with the Town of Williamstown and communities and organizations throughout the Berkshires. The group also reviews and coordinates the college’s related work on government and legislative affairs.

The Task Force considers opportunities for strategic partnership and financial support that advance the college’s educational mission and contribute to quality of life for college employees and all the residents of Berkshire County.

While the committee reviews funding requests at its monthly meetings, the bulk of the college’s financial support is allocated to long-term partnerships and we regretfully decline a majority of worthy projects. In lieu of monetary support, we encourage organizations to consider hosting student interns or offering other work/learning opportunities that provide mutual benefit. To explore these possibilities, contact the college’s Center for Learning in Action.
